Hello and a very warm welcome to my website. My name is Emma-Jane LaRoche and I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) based in Surrey.
My therapeutic approach is Humanistic counselling based on Transactional Analysis.
I provide a non-judgemental, understanding and supportive environment where you can share your issues in a confidential and safe environment.
It’s not always that easy to talk through issues with friends and family. Counselling allows you the opportunity to explore and express your thoughts and feelings and make sense of your worries in a safe environment.
It allows you to talk freely and confidentially to someone who is completely independent of your personal situation and who is non-judgemental.
Talking about your relationships, expressing your grief over a loved one or understanding why negative things may continue to impact on your life and not understanding why!
Some issues I work with
Below is a brief explanation of the type of counselling I provide, what counselling is and how it can help. I hope you will find this helpful.
I am a Humanistic counsellor/therapist providing counselling and therapeutic services based on Transactional Analysis and work with people 16 years and above.
As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I abide by their Code of Ethics and Good Practice.
What is counselling?
Counselling is a type of talking therapy which gives people the opportunity to talk through their thoughts and feelings in a confidential and safe environment with a trained counsellor who uses different therapeutic approaches.
"Counsellors don't offer advice but help clients to see things more clearly and to make positive changes in their lives"
Do you sometimes feel hopeless, lost, stuck or trapped?
Do you feel betrayed , not knowing what to do or who to turn to?
How can counselling help?
Sometimes in life, feeling overwhelmed, with no sense of direction can be the point at which we feel that professional help may be what’s needed.
As a counsellor/therapist I can provide space and time for you to talk through your difficulties where you can be heard in a warm, non-judgemental, caring, friendly and respectful manner.
It’s not always that easy to talk through issues with friends and family.
"Taking that first step towards counselling can be daunting for some but bring a sense of relief to others. It can help make matters more clear without feeling judged or pressured"
I offer a free 10 - 15 minute introductory telephone call so that we can decide together whether counselling is right for you .
Free 15 minute Initial phone conversation
I am happy to offer you a free 15 minute initial phone conversation to discuss whether I can be of help. We can discuss whether counselling is suitable for your particular issue.
What to expect
Each counselling session lasts 50 minutes and in the initial meeting we talk about what has brought you to counselling.
An assessment will be carried out in the first session where I will ask some questions and then explain how the counselling process works.
It will give you the opportunity to ask questions and discuss any worries and concerns you may have and then between us we agree to the frequency and time that these sessions will take place.
